Demon In The Light
In the light, she hides
For then they can see it in her eyes
 The demon that lye's inside
 In the darkness, she thrives
Her biggest fear as a child
 Now, a blanket of comfort
 A safe haven
As she sits in a corner of the room
Head in her knees, drawn to her chest
 Tears escaping closed eyes
Darkness surrounds her, comforting and reassuring
Trying to fight the demon inside
 Her body grows weak
This evil being to strong to tame
 Suddenly, everything stills
 Disbelieving she thinks, It's done
Keeping her eyes closed, she stands
 Takes a shaky breath and
 After a moment
A small smile begins to creep across her face
 Her body convulses
A strangled cry escapes her lips
 The lights come on
 Her eyes fly open
 Shining bright, gorgeous red
 In the light, she thrives
 In the darkness, she hides
 The demon has taken over
