Always Growing
Rain coming down through
thunderous clouds of black in your head.
The world is gray in your eyes.
Sometimes it rains so much your eyes will show it.
Depression hits you and you are its lightning rod.
The days are longer and greyer.
You sink further down the sinkhole until you're drowning in the rain.
The ground buries you until you are nothing but fertilizer.
Until one day the rain stops.
The sun comes out.
You sprout.
A beautiful sunflower.
