Learning Life
After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Disappointment and depression
And you learn that people aren’t always your friend
And only a select few in this world are trustworthy
And you begin to learn
How to choose your battles
And promises mean absolutely nothing
Until actions back them up
And you learn
To be self sufficient
Because in the end nothing lasts forever
The flowers wither and friends fade
After a while you learn
To decorate your soul with tulips and daisies
Because being uneasy gets you nowhere
Stress gradually builds until it explodes like a ticking bomb
And finally you learn
A bubbly smile gets you way further than any mean scowl could
And the more friendships you can grow the better
Because life is too short to be anything but happy
