Self-esteem police helping you through another day.
Do they take any old poem
that is written to them and submitted?
“Oh yeah, that one has words,
and look, it is perfectly fitted!”
As long as the sentences
can be squished onto a page,
I know they will publish it.
But why is mine in a cage?
Because I called them out?
Because I spoke the truth?
Not everyone gets a medal.
That’s why there was only one Babe Ruth.
So why are you all acting
as if the only way to build self-esteem,
is to get everyone who writes a word,
put in this magazine.
You won’t put this in though.
You’ll look at the title and forget it.
But when you do, I’ll make sure,
that all of you regret it.
