Hands
Hands can reach,
so much more than
the salt across the table.
Hands can touch
the
bottom
of the deepest oceans
and pull drowning humanity
to the surface
by the last hanging piece,
of its fractured essence.
And hands can pull
two antithetic worlds,
Mismatched
and
Contrary
together only for a moment.
So lovers may kiss,
And the observers may cry.
Hands can extend
to the heavens afar.
Though they cannot
bring back the lost,
hands can grasp
the gates for a moment,
so goodbyes can be told,
and last ‘I love you’s can be murmured.
Hands can reach, so much more than
the salt across the table.
