the outrage
I let the fire burst in my stomach
letting the firewood of my blood burn.
She has poured the gasoline of her toxic
words over me and lit the match of throbbing distaste.
The flames turn crimson supplying my eyes
with a born rage turn the hue of brown to the deepest red of blood.
The ashes spark like electricity jumping throughout my caged body as she wraps her arms around my stiff shoulders expected for my arms for comfort her back but
this is not comfort.
This is the suffering that is screaming within the silence of the whipping words that lather my skin.
The pressure pounds as anger bubbles over like boiling water on the stove, painted black.
The lines are pink and slowly transforming into ghost white as I try and remember a time where I was fighting to find myself under this skin.
