Backwards in Three
Tonight the birds sing.
Their whistles, full of sorrow and haunting beauty,
Remind me of the time I died.

Today there is melancholy in the skies.
The clouds, ghostly pale and vast,
Remind me of the time I lived.

 But no, I don't regret a thing!
For I lived a life that's worthy of its title,
 Rather than simply exist.
