Insomnomaniac
There’s a girl in the mirror,
I think she’s trying to get out.
Yes, I know it’s my reflection,
Or at least supposed to be.
But she isn’t me,
Not the sore tennis wrist,
Not the scar on her hip,
Or the slight twist of her lip.
And I swear,
When I look at her too long,
I can see a longing in her eyes,
A deep burning beneath bright blue.
She wants to get out.
She has to get out.
I could break the glass and set her free,
But who says I’m not the one that put her there?
