Prodigal
A winding journey down the path
Sharks and minnows dart at the trees
An endless beginning, a tale with no end or start
like a race for participation
no places or medals
gold from the mountain
silver from the mines
bronze from the pennies
A mobius strip of decisions
All leading to the final destination
coffee tortured from scalding to freezing
And doors made with no keys
Faceless factories emit no pollution
Ending with a plethora of prodigies
Sprouted from the first batch that came in.
Restart from any place, your pick
The dice will never find solace
The babies will cry with no sound
And the heavens will open and close
Jaws that devour but are always hungry
A net that searches for purpose
A statue that moves from dawn to dusk
And a moon that reflects over light.
