Smoke
A terrace lies in the plain
White curls through the drawers
Gray seeps into curtains
The stair creaks as the town sleeps
Color sprinkled in with ancient light
Blanketed in curling tendrils of vine
Rocking back and forth
like a pendulum or chair.
Forever cracked, forever curved, forever rigid
as cartilage sharpens on cloth
bone mends under blood
Covering civilization with caution
and nerve punctures through hills.
Paying dues to the moon
Craters forever lost in imagination
