"There Are Poems Inside You That Paper Can't Handle."

I see a stranger in the mirror
She's talking but I can't hear her
She tugs and pulls at her skin
As she tries to suck it in
Then she tries to stand up straight but
Still all she feels is hate
Her pain, only the numbers will tell
When she takes a step on the scale
She hasn't eaten anything in days
Obsessing over what she weighs
She feels beauty when she sees her bones
You know what they say about sticks and stones
She's taken all of the blame
She carries inside her fragile frame
She screams there must be some mistake
She feels it more when she's awake
She feels like her body's defective but
All of that is her perspective
Because outside of all the hate
She's got much more on her plate
How can she expect to heal
When guilt follows after every meal?
She can't run from the voice inside
It's given her nowhere to hide
I see a stranger in the mirror and
Now her voice couldn't be clearer
The stranger that I see is me but
She's not who I want to see
She's living in a house of bones and
Sitting on a fragile throne
They can tell just by my gaze but
No one cares enough to stay
The mask I wear is her disguise but
They can't see beyond my lies
By five words she is bound
'What's just five more pounds? '
I see a stranger in the mirror and
After all the tears I hear her
How can you expect to heal
With all the pain that you conceal?
Now who do you expect to help
When you can't even save yourself?

Really, really good! I like the creative rhyming and how it doesn't feel like it's too rhyme-y but has a nice ryhthym. Delivers a powerful message. Really nice job!
