Lead Me Out of the Dark
His fingers tremble
and his wrists ache
His body moans
while his knees shake
Tears pirouette
dripping to his cracked lips
The pain he feels
are emotional whips
Into the darkness
he feels himself fall
Emptiness takes over
once and for all
Loneliness comes
and for eternity it stays
but along came a dim light
preparing to save
Shining through darkness
and cutting out pain
Ripping shreds of loneliness
helping happiness gain
Light reaches his cheeks
and grasps his hands
Light gleams in his hair
and helps him stand
Chilling his bones
and calming his aches
his heart gleams
and the sadness breaks
The light brought love
to the boy she saw fall
The light wanted to show him
that he was braver than all
She took his hand
and kissed his cheek
leaving the darkness together
he knew he'd never be weak.
In love the two fell
and in happiness they grew
she looked to the boy and said
"I love you."
