The Endless Optimist
I know you see her,
Thriving in her ever so charming aura,
Bubbling champagne eyes
Catching and raising your swollen
Dull fevered mind.
Hopelessness entangles her legs
Tripping through all melancholia.
Granite toes joining her ribboned feet
Prized and yet not rewarded
Treading our sorrow with sickening joy
A perplexed pink infuses her countenance
Showering trinkets of humiliation
Of uncomfort, insecurity.
Swiftly broken, a half faced smile,
Her champagne eyes are flat.
Dainty arms, though anxious now,
Out of sync with her body,
Her optimised souls escaping,
Through those flailing, prisoning bars.
Her down flowing water hair,
Framing her sweet persona,
A somewhat drowned oak colour, cradling such nostalgic scents
Focusing her perfectly painted charade, though only
Auctioned for, others pleasure.
At least until the water spills over, an inky mess.
A choking shock, her mouth craving those musty lies.
The dilution of her creation, revealing;
We are such ignorant buyers
Of others so detailed complexity.
