Old Habits
She's addicted to tearing holes in ugly skin
She made visible the hurt she held within
From her tired eyes tears fell like rain but
Relief soon came to replace her pain
She's the result of the mess they made and
The scars they left will never fade
She stares straight ahead and tries not to feel
She breathes in and presses down with cold sharpened steel
In the end breaking her skin leaves little to gain but
It hasn't failed to ease the pain
She breathes in again but this time's not her last
She'll fall back into the habits of her past
