Lonely Restless Hotel Nights
Light dares to peek out from behind the curtain
As if to whisper the secrets of the new day
As if to taunt me with the temptation of the outdoors
As if to spy on the slumbering residents lodged in this lonely hotel complex
Light grows brighter, strengthening as the seconds turn to minutes,
and the minutes turn to hours
As the day, having already begun anew, passes me by
Light, seemingly pure and clear, seeps from behind the curtains,
Whose own colour is indistinguishable
The muted curtains
Outlined in the blank light,
Are still while I am restless
