Why Do You Write?
August 23, 2014
Once I was asked;
'Why do you write?'
And my reply?
So simple and light.
I told them merely
For fun, thats all
But inside I knew,
Thats lies, the fool!
I write to love
I write to cry
I write to show people
How they can't deny,
That words have power
No man could hold
I write to show people
I'm not controlled.
I write to stand
I write to scream
I write to live life
Within my own dreams.
I write to show people
The raw, raging fires
That possess my mind
That fuel my desires.
So the next time I'm asked;
'Why do you write?'
I'll smile at them
And say,
Because it makes me fight.

I wrote this poem after really questioning why I like writing, and I found my answer so easily, as expressed. I hope that people see writing is a form of showing yourself in your true honest form.
