The Path of Repetition
Walking along a spherical path
Circling, yet I never cease.
Viewing the breathtaking scenery,
Yet breathtaking may become dull at a time.
Observing the beautiful faces,
Yet beautiful may become monotonous at a time.
Witnessing the quarrels of mindless men
Whose mistakes have become repetitive.
This path is all too familiar,
But is familiar good?
Possibly, to the average man.
For he may stay safe and comfortable
Not knowing what tomorrow may bring.
But I, I am no average man.
For I find joy in the surprise of not knowing.
I question myself.
Should I end my journey on this rugged path?
For what is worth continuing when it has no purpose?
No purpose besides approaching the end.
I reach my decision.
Why shall I end, end a journey so valuable, yearning for potential?
I travel, amidst my good path,
One foot in front of the other.
Waiting.
Waiting for a change
But what must it be?
The scenery, the faces, the path itself?
Ha! How foolish a man I'd be
Waiting forever until the ages end.
They do not change their demanding ways.
Their struggles and weaknesses continue to grow.
They will never change.
Yet, maybe it is I that must change.
Get a new perspective perhaps.
Yes. Yes that is the answer.
So I continue among my familiar way
With a new attitude,
A new way to walk this path.
And so I grow to notice the changes of scenery; dull no longer.
The faces I am able to distinguish with their captivating beauty.
And my path, once dreary, without a purpose,
Is now unique, and walked upon with pride.
