Haunted Eyes
Watch!
The pride of a hundred eyes
A blink of silence, solitude
Haltered by a need to witness.
Watch; as they watch you,
Play the game, know the game
You'll see it through.
The grassy knees, a warranted lie
They smother you
And pierce your eyes.
Watch!
Or can you not?
Seek the coloured expression
A failed progression, a growing depression.
Ripping your flesh, they determine your pulse
Blued gross veins, is red still false?
False, incorrect, wrong at least
Is this the blood; of the mental beast.
Watch!
Or maybe listen now
As like soldiers, they line up, taking their bow
Hear echoed steps, precise and neat
What's that, you say, in their speech?
Her life; was all so, complete.
But they didn't know that you were beat,
By the raging, mental beast
Who took you, as his feast.
