family tears
Family tears
The forks clattered as my mothered turned,
To speak. A tear rolled softly down her cheek
As she spoke almost silent words.
My father held his head low as if he lost something
They both started to speak, but all I could take
From their painful words was divorce.
My heart hurt as if I had been shot, a moment of disbelief
Struck me for my parents have always said
our family will never split
I could not bear to be with anyone
As i left, I heard a faint yell a distant voice said,
It was not your fault.
I tried to fight the tears but holding back a single tear
Felt like a red hot blade coursing through me.
