Darkness envelopes the sky
While bits of sunshine poke out of the cool sheet
Smooth grass and moist earth like a pillow beneath
All sight is immersed with the swirls of mist
And the glowing sphere above
Lightning bugs dance and sway like fairies in sacred grounds
The peripheral is engulfed
With the scurrying of eyes alight in the moonlight
Freedom washes over and clears away all fear and strain
With the slightness of a breeze
And nothing plays but a never-ending track
Of ebbing peace.
