Dream
Where I from,
There are everlasting green meadows.
Animals graze eating grass near the walk of the barn doors.
I tire from this serene way of life.
I dream ofMORE.
As night falls,
I retire my head onto my pillow.
The quiet night is filled with the lively sounds of the city from my dreams.
Everywhere I turn I see lights like stars in the sky.
Bright lights, taxi lights, Broadway lights, stage lights, any lights.
The busy streets of the city fill me with the warmth that I lack at home.
This dream is forbidden according to my parents.
This dream should be replaced with the farm life that my parents want me to live.
But it’s not their dream,
It’s mine
