beauty in death
the colors of autumns leaves
illustrate feelings and emotions
of those whose eyes take in enough
to see the beauty in death.
leaves desperately clinging to summers
branches, as their colors change
alongside their weakening strength.
falling to the ground, decaying
in their last breath
cultivating the ground for the birth
of new life.
it’s in that dirt, that cultivation
where the beauty of death
can be found, by those willing
to dig deeper.
