My Break

"Where are you going?"
Is what they all asked
I told them I was leaving the terrible atmosphere that surrounded me for a while
But really I was taking a break
A break from the hideous rumors and the incredibly rude people
A break from the name calling and bruises
And a break from the rough world that I lived in
I couldn't bare it anymore
What was I supposed to do, tell the teacher?
That would be ridiculous and embarrassing
So I took a break
What they didn't know was my break was not like any other
My break was not temporary,
It was permanent

Bullying is a dominating factor in today's society and it is something that needs to be stopped. It needs to be stopped so it does not lead to things like suicide.
