I Should Have
I should have realized when you were doubling tapping her Instagram selfies but not mine.
I should have realized when you were favoriting her tweets on heartache but not mine about love.
I should have realized when you talked about other girls and their potential but never acknowledged the girl in front of you.
I should have realized when you would call after work because that’s a routine you were used to with her, not because you wanted to hear my voice.
I should have realized when you would look at me and the spark you used to have was gone.
I should have realized when you ignored my relationship questions it was because you didn’t want to hurt me.
I should have realized when you would change the subject from love to cars that your mind was never fully there.
I should have realized we had no potential before I let you back into my heart, only to let you break it once again.
