Final Smile
I love him
He loves me
They hate him
They hate us
Every headlight going down the street feels like death brushing by
When hope is found you brace for the impact of rejection and failure
All eyes are prayed to be allies
"He needs a job" they complain, then the job isn't good enough
"His hair is to long" they preach, then it's not the style they want
"He is to old they contradict
"You are just a child"
Their favorite line
"You are to young"
Yet my life not ruined at sixteen as theirs was
They pray for failure
I pray for the day I can smile and say
"I won"
