A Response to The Eric Garner Verdict
Hands down you gonna kill me
Hands up you gonna kill me
Damn I got the message
You really do hate me
RIP Eric Garner
Your death and verdict got me so angry
Me speaking the truth is gonna make them want to hang me
Police brutality
Causing too many casualties
Breaking the hearts of too many families
Judges letting the cops go
As if they condone them murdering casually
The police are the leading cause of fatalities
I live in a country where this is the reality
As if Trayvon wasn't enough
And Mike Brown was a warm up
My brothers keep your eyes up
They're all coming for us
These racist don't want to see us succeed
Nah
They wanna see us on our knees
They wanna see our hearts bleed
And if they can't get that
They're gonna make sure we can't breathe
Pepper spray us so we can't see
I hope I'm not a target
For making this poetic piece
Let me remind you one more time
Without justice there's no peace
Just us protesting in the streets
I shouldn't have to die
To find some peace
