Schizophrenia
She told me it’s like running down an endless dark corridor
No matter how much ground you make you’re always two steps backwards
You’re sprinting but you’re not moving
You keep running from the wicked that sulks behind you
From shadows that try to kiss away your passion
And mold you into a figure bleeding of torment
  The want to freeze you
Keep you rooted to the black tile floor
  Until you collapse into delusion
And give into the shadows that lingers by your sides
And the echoes that bang against your skull
  Looking for an entrance
A way in so they can corrupt your brain
In the end your mind becomes ash
You lose that sense of reality because it’s locked behind that door
  The one you can’t reach
  At that point you’re dreaming
Floating into a nightmare at the other end of the corridor
Into a cave where the shadow lives
Waiting for you with its razor sharp claws
At that point there is no getaway
  You’re trapped in a mirage
  A second dimension
Where all the running you did doesn’t even exist
