Grandfather Elegy
My grandfather is an inspiration
He was the core of creation
I know he was humble
And didn’t grumble
I remember when he went to ski with us
And walked all the way without fuss
He constantly crashed carelessly
He still moved with us quickly
He lived with no electricity
And far away from the city
I wonder how hurt he was inside
When we all cast him aside
I hope he would have stayed longer
To show him how much bigger
I am, and to discuss
But he is no longer with us
