Wolves on the Hunt
Alone in the night, howling at the moon
a shadow, nearly invisible
runs in packs
dodging trees, jumping over rocks, leaping over rivers.
Target locked, ready to attack,
waiting.
creeping silently and carefully.
Watching, waiting, salivating.
Ready to attack, in their positions.
Pouncing on the prey, clawing, biting.
The pack joins in
biting, chewing, clawing.
Their feast has come. Howling signals it’s time to begin.
Gnawing at the carcass, leaving only bones behind.
Leaving like shadows, silent, unnoticed .
The cycle continues, leaving only paw prints. Hunting, living, surviving...together.
