One day at a time
It all began in a small town,
a young girl with dreams that
couldn't be knocked down,
a loud mind but for miles you won't hear a sound,
not even the beat of her heart
pound.
Being young living stress free,
had her care free from thinking what
the world might be,
for all she knows this is the life that
she may always see,
everyday no worries almost
guranteed.
All grown up 10 years later had her
feeling stuck,
not knowing which way to go,
she began to give up,
time went fast,
life was passing her up,
blindsided feeling like she got hit by a truck.
Everything she does is unable to go right,
running out of options and quickly
losing sight,
a world of sleepless thoughts has
her up all night,
but deep down she knows she must
maintain the fight.
She's stuck, chained up, trying to
break loose,
and jump through the hoops to know
all of life's truths,
coming up short wishing she was
still in her youth,
all the blood sweat and tears,
she falls once again.
Throught the pain she still finds a way
to shine,
her ambition stands tall and she
keeps it in line.
She's staying true to her heart not
being a prisoner of time,
walking along her path,
taking it one day at a time.
