To My Stretchmarks
I chose,
one day,
to govern over my body.
newly born and swimming in mortality,
I chose to stretch,
I do not know if I stepped out, and pulled.
I don’t know if I pressed in my nails, and tug and tore.
Or if,
From the inside out,
I simply could not fit.
