They Tell Me No
they tell me no
they hurt me, tear me to a thousand pieces
shove me and rip me with their claws and teeth
pounding at my soul
they push me down and leave me
hidden in their shadows
and torture me so much
that I don't want to come out
they look at me with eyes of steel
sharpened like razors
cutting at my every move
my everything
who are they?
they are what hides the flower inside
from the world
that is waiting,
waiting for its bloom
they are evil spirits
doubting and hissing at me
telling me why I can't
they are my worst enemy
they feed within me
they are me.
and I am them.
