My Mother Grew up With Me
My mother grew up broken.
A broken home, a broken heart.
She had a shattered world.
My mother grew up praying that her Daddy would stop.
Stop beating her, stop screaming.
She had a lonely childhood.
My mother grew up crying,
Crying for a mother's love, she couldn't recieve.
Her mother was too lost in her own mind.
My mother grew up on the streets.
Kicked out at seventeen with no where to go.
My mother grew up saying,
"I'll be better, I'll give my kids a better life than I had."
My mother grew up promising,
My Daddy would never hit her again.
She lied.
My mother grew up playing house,
with three kids she couldn't afford,
And a husband who spent all our money at the bar.
My mother grew up with me;
An 18 year old girl supporting the household.
Will I be like my mother too?

I come from a broken home, with a mom and dad, who although are still together, hate eachother. I am the supporter of the household, making money for my family. I do not hate her for it, but I know my mother grew up in tough situation.
