She Loves
she loves
little pink bows
and playful kitty-cats
and puppy-dogs
and riding on merry-go-rounds
and when somebody paints
her tiny nails red
and one day she would love
to catch a unicorn by its silver horn
and share her bubbly love with him.
She likes
frivolous chit-chat on her cell phone,
Whatever is the newest fad,
Echoing songs on the radio
And blue-eyed blondes
(or brown-eyed burnettes or green-eyed redheads).
Her favorite sport is basking in the sun.
And one day she would love
to travel around the world
and absorb all the excitement she sees.
She adores
Chilled white wine served at elegant parties,
And the quick flicker
Which glows from a diamond.
Observing the ocean, and perhaps,
Drawing a little sketch
Could never bore her.
And one day she would love
To make enough money
To settle down and rest.
She enjoys
Bridge games until 9:00,
Watching reruns of Gilmore GIrls,
A nip of brandy to help the day pass,
Knitting afghans and woolen blankets,
And rocking in her cushioned
Oak rocker.
And one day she would love
To turn the clock back for a day
And ride on a merry-go-round.
