when it was quiet
When it was quiet, it was like the whole world bcame silent
I would stare at walls and contemplate
Everything I never tried to be
I would think of the past
Forgetting the present for a time
I would bite back all the screams in my throat,
And let them out in my head
My head
Where bruises would form later on
Where I'd banged it against a wall
Where I let out my frutrations about myself
Yet I did not shed a single tear
The pain on the outside surpasses the pain on the inside for once
Wraps me in its warmth
Helps me forget to remember
When I cannot stand remembering anymore
When it was quiet, I was quiet
I couldn't be anything more if I tried.
