"Do or do not. There is no try." ~Yoda

Roses are red from bloodstained rise
Violets are blue from monsters bruise

Peonies grow purple from pain wracked plea

Bloodied thorns of bleeding rose are bared
Blooming of flowers flame with a hunger for ash

Screams pierce the night as flowers wilt in wailing cries
The iron shod boots trample the earth with pain filled crash

Salt is sown in the fruit filled fields
Man and woman fallen to monsters thirst

Fang and tooth crashing and gnawing
Shattered remains after this dreadful bane

Now that the dirges song of death and bane has bloomed
Now that rivers of red run through town and city too
Now that meal of bone is laid from shattered remains

Monsters stand with their reddened maws
Talon and claw, fang in maw laid to rest

The monsters change as blood does fade
Their minds remade, with intelligence they stay

The dirges song of bane is done.
The song which gave them rise.

This is an edited version of an earlier poem I did, I called it 'Shading Flowers' because of the opening verses.
