Your Choice
This world feels hopelessly empty without you by my side;
If I gave you my love forever, what would you decide?
If these words written on paper were suddenly given voice;
If you love me as much as I love you, what would be your choice?
I wish I knew what you thought of me; am I ever on your mind?
Lately I have fallen fast and think of you all the time.
I miss you more than words express, though love is too tough to voice.
If I told you I love you unconditionally, what would be your choice?
Would you say "I love you" and hold me close the way we used to be?
And always love me regardless of life's decided destiny?
Would you turn love away forgetting your feelings as I fear has been done?
Or would you tell me "You'll be mine forever, for I know you are the one?"
Life is filled with thunderstorms; though, you are my eternal sunshine.
And if the only promise made was to always love you as mine,
Would you love me as I hope you do; would you resist my love?
For life is oh so heavenly; you are my miracle sent from above.
Would you travel with me to the ends of the world across the ocean blue?
Or tell me "It's over, there's nothing left; I'm sorry darling, we're through?"
Would you promise me all your love, straight from your heart, my dear?
Or would you tell me "There's no love for you," with a single tear?
Love is an endless journey which never ensures a place to start.
I long to be on this journey with you; I promise you my heart.
If I were to place a number on love, I love you more than there are stars in the sky.
If I told you I love you with all my heart, would your love exemplify?
I wish I knew what you thought of me; am I ever on your mind?
Lately I have fallen fast and think of you all the time.
I miss you more than words express, though love is too tough to voice.
If I told you I love you unconditionally, what would be your choice?
This world feels hopelessly empty without you by my side;
If I gave you my love forever, what would you decide?
If these words written on paper were suddenly given voice;
If you love me as much as I love you, what would be your choice?

This poem was written for the love of my life. I wanted to tell him how much I care for him, how much I love him- though, it is too tough to say these things because I fear what he might say. But since he cannot hear me say it now, "I love you, Brett."
