Dark and Dawn
The dark wings of night
Strange as time itself
Fills hearts with fright
A sudden unprovoked shiver
Shaking like a bow's quiver
Praying for light to come
If only the morning's sun
Would grant a ray of light
And ease the people's fright
But no,not yet. The dark must get its due
The clock is tolling now, as if giving a clue
To the inhabitants of this dark hour
Soon the torment ends, the night will sour
Yellow flames burn through the giant black wing
It flaps desperately and dissolves away
Birds rustle in trees and begin to sing
The night is gone, revealed is day
Shining rays beam from the cheery sun
Dawn is here, and dawn has won

I was inspired by how beautiful sunlight is and how scary night can be. Most won't admit it, but when your alone at night you can't help looking over your shoulder or being startled by the wandering alley cat. We are all secretly a little afraid of the night.
