Eyes...
Writing was hard until
I saw the way your eyes weren't just brown.
Because they are honey,
with a dash of chesnut
And they are maple,
sprinkled with chocolate
and they are penny,
gilded in gold
Writing was hard until
I saw the way those eyes looked at me
When our noses touch
and our breaths are short
When you look at me
and I pretend not to notice
and
When I knew that
I was in love
in the simplest of complex ways
