Gnawing Gnawing Gnawing
It's gnawing at me, I know
I avoid it
Ignore it
Distract myself
From the obvious truth
Gnawing at me
Like a hang nail
I notice it
And decide to go for it
And I pick and pick
Till it bleeds
Now everyone can see
Its visible
Its toll on me
And what do I do?
To stop
Right now
My fingers stroll over words
Explaining my hangnail
Pretending not to notice how it shows
Pretending not to notice its even there
But something is felt
I can't put a finger on it
