Man's Power
The standing army,
But each instant losing some of it's Integrity,
It has not the vitality and force of a single living man,
For a single man can bend it to his will, Complicated Machinery,
It does not keep the country free,
It does not settle the West,
It does not educate,
Bounce over the obstacals,
Those mischivious persons,
Why has every man a conscience, then?
We should be men first,
Captian,
Powder monkeys,
All marching,
Over hill and dale to the wars,
Now what are they?
Men at all?
Man in power,
A mere shadow and Reminesence,
of humanity,
A man laid out,
Alive and standing,
Buried under arms.
