Leaves
The leaves crackle under each step
lighting the path with noise
The breeze comes to pick some up
sweeping them away,
Goodbye
The leaves make raking endless,
always appearing everywhere,
Making fall continuous
A trash bag holds them for now
Goodbye
The leaves flutter,
falling gracefully down from trees
making the ground red, orange, yellow
They are hidden under people’s feet,
crunch, crunch, crunching
Goodbye
The leaves stay,
protecting a bare tree,
from the cold winter weather,
a blanket of snow covers them,
Goodbye
The leaves are blowing,
traveling on the summer breeze,
They’ll be back next year,
When it’s fall again
Goodbye
