Sweet Satisfaction
One day, you'll realize
bubblegum drops don't
hide the taste of
toxic hops in a bottle.
Clouds of powdered
sugar cannot conceal the
puffs of cigars.
And no amount of
confectionaries
will ever halt the
damage of
creeping cavities.
So don't coat
your personality with
so many sprinkles;
show only the
"acceptable,"
toffee-smooth side
of skin on
your pictures,
Or dip your scarred
hands into a honey-scented
concealer.
I want to take you in
fully,
Every slimy lie
you've mused with
such smoothness,
the sick thoughts,
and every other insult
or saltiness
which could possibly
escape
your dried,
cynical lips.
Because those backlashes
are completely authentic.
Let me taste your mind
and all it's ghastly tangs.
What may start as bitter,
you will find, ends with
a truth to savor.
