Perfect never existed
I remember growing up in a family of 15
Always trying to get my parents attention
Getting beat up by my older siblings
Having my sweet older brother getting locked up only to realize
That there is no such thing as the “Perfect American Dream”
I've had my heart broken a million times over building up
To the perfect relationship
And realized I don’t want it to be perfect
Balancing my life trying to fit into social standards,
Trying to keep my grades from sinking like jack from the titanic,
Trying to make my girlfriend happy, so that everyone else was happy
Trying to pass sky high records set by others in sports,
Trying to achieve something impossible,
Trying to achieve what everyone wants,
What everyone craves,
What everyone needs,
I was trying to be perfect...
For those who also gave up on being perfect,
For those who realized perfect never existed.
