Wild thing
You saw a wild thing.
Reckless and alive with freedom –
and you killed her.
You poisoned her with your selfish intent!
She was untamed.
Uncultivated by society –
But you fabricated a rope of suburbia
and fastened it around her neck.
Her rhythmic heart was a storm of unpredictability –
And now it has been encased with societal sensibility.
Her eyes, which were wondrously bright –
have now dulled down
with a loss of spirit.
A loss of fight.
Her lungs, which used to breathe in diversity and defiance –
suffocated with restrictions,
cut with the jagged edge of compliance.
Her hair, which was once rattled by the wind –
Is now tied back by rules and regulations.
You saw a wild thing and desired to control her,
You gave into your dark temptations.
You saw a wild thing -
You tamed her.
You broke her.
You killed her.
