Speak
Why are you crying at the words I speak?
  You’re rambling now about a beast cloaked in red;
How a man needs to salvage me with a drowning light.
I’m frightened by the hysteria accompanying your rising voice.
I am not corrupted or disturbed or blind.
  Stop screaming.
Stop spamming me with your discomforts.
You define it as cursing, but expletives I dare not speak.
It is but a word, not even a name to me.
You say it is time to pray, for I am being preyed upon.
My weak mind a feast for the feigned evil below us.
Your feverishness is self-evident, providing proof I should have remained silent.
The frustration, no the anger, is welling inside of my balled fists.
The sting of truth is painful to even the open-minded.
I’m afraid, for reality has fooled me.
This life is the only one I shall be granted.
With no white castle above or red sea below,
When death comes about, I will only be greeted with darkness.
  Come again, God?
  The devil, who’s he?
I’m sorry mother, I no longer believe in fairy tales.
The speeches on the radio no longer shadow me.
My own sense-of-self guides me with ease.
I will not be enclosed by the majority.
I am not a machine controlled by the sky.
A classification separates the bold from the meek.
I am the bold; forever me.
I am able to think freely as I please.
I speak with chains uncuffed from my wrists.
If a wanderer inquires, I shall respond with glee,
“I am the bold; forever me.”
