Sunset
He's chasing the last glimpse of twilight
relentless, running out of time
his heart failing to accommodate his mind and soul
He is exhausted, oppressive
It should have been her 18th birthday
when he finally got to the place where they had their first date
it was too late to watch the sunset with her on her birthday
He lit a candle for her
then sat with arms wrapped around his knees
He stared at the candle with a broken heart
as it flicked in the sound of the rhythmical waves
