Why won't he listen?

He talks to me

Talks with me

Talks at me...

With nothing but his mouth.

He has eyes for looking

Looking at my lips

He has hands to feel

When I talk with my hips

He has ears to hear...

Just to hear his thought outloud?

Trust the tongue to articulate

And the ear to reciprocate

To my yearning sound.

Listen to my pitch

Listen to its dips

Show me you can see behind my eyes

The little lies

I try to keep alive

But die

When I see the hole

Inside your soul

That I can't fill

With just the time

Spent looking in his eyes.

Eyes that shift when he looks at just my lips

Or my hips...

I know what's on your mind.

And that's fine!

For a time...

But not when you won't hear mine.

Just listen to me

And you will see

That I'm not fine

With just this

Hands on my hips

A kiss on my lips

Then thrown in a ditch

For me to climb

And climb

And climb

Until I reach your ears

And through my tears

I tell you my fears...

And then you reply

You don't have time

To hear your crime

Well

At least a crime in my eyes

But not to your ears

That hear

Nothing.

And yes,

It was my choice

To ignore my voice

That too was a crime

On my dime

Spent betting on you

To care about me too.

But that was just a lie

I made up

To make up

For your tongue

On audio tracks

That I want back

To play back

For you and your ears

So you can finally hear

And see

And feel

My eyes

Hips

And lips...

Speak my beautiful mind.
