The Dream
Mary sits in a corner
On rainy days like these.
She sings the story of her father—
"At ease, men. At ease.
"Gather your weapons—
We'll accept the invite.
Gather your hearts—
You'll need them to fight!
"Take hold of your pistols—
Put the pressure on them!
Your life was made for this—
Now go and be men!
"I'll take the lead—
We'll exceed this black hole.
Remember your children—
Remember the Alamo!"
Well.
They fought with morale,
Though it was a savage hell.
Amongst the chaos,
The captain yelped his last yell—
"Men! What are you fighting for?"
Mary's father,
A poor belittled man,
Was unable to answer—
For his ordinance was to be dammed.
So much like the rest of them—
He fell with a thud
As his last words were seamed—
"This is so you, Mary,
Can be a follower of The Dream."
