Math Class
I sat in class,
Watching the jellyfish snatch-
Words floating above heads,
Devouring them with zest.
I saw the teacher,
Anenomes swirling around-
Her thin, black sandals,
Bobbing in her current's wake.
I looked to the wall,
Seeing windows of patient sharks-
Releasing bubbles near cracks,
Where they wait to break.
I sat in class,
Wondering where the shore was.
